Kaffe Fasset Drunkens Path Quilt

♥♥♥
Here is my first attempt at a Drunken's Path quilt. I actually started this quilt nearly a year ago just before we began selling our old house, but packed it all away when we were moving and have not really been motivated to complete it. Today I thought I would get it done! I was not as hard as I had imagined and I quite like the result!

I have used strong and colorful fabrics mainly Kaffe Fassett prints, but also some Amy Butler. For the back I used a Philip Jacob's print.

Phew, Confetti Quilt finished!

Phew...I  just finished Dylan's quilt.  I always feel so relieved once a quilt is finished.  When I start the quilting process it feels like it will never end, yet it always does!
This quilt was made using Japanese fabrics and Recess by American Jane for Moda.  It was bought as a kit, called Confetti.  I love the colors and all the little cars, animals and trees.  For the backing I used a fabric that I bought from IKEA which I found was just perfect for this project!

Half Way There!

I am slowly getting there with Dylan's quilt.  Hopefully tomorrow I can piece the top together and start quilting!

It's Autumn - serious sewing ahead

I just love start of Autumn!  Australian summers are usually long and very hot and I just love the cool change.  To me it reminds me of Sweden, I love the seasons changing, and especially from hot to cold.  Nothing better than sewing whilst the rain is hitting kitchen window, smell of coffee throughout the house and music on!
Today I'm cutting fabric for a new quilt, this one is for my son Dylan who loves sitting with a blanket in front of the TV at night.  I will use some japanese prints and also some American Jane Recess fabrics.

A Dress for Mia

♥♥♥
Today I made a little dress for my daughter Mia.  I used one of Sandi Henderson's patterns called Claire.  It was the first time I have used any of her Portabellopixie Boutique Patterns and I must say it was so easy to follow with step by step color photos to guide me through.

Fabric used for this dress was from Tanya Whelan's Darla collection which is just to gorgeous!

Mia is staying at her grandparents tonight, so I will have to wait till tomorrow to see that it actually fits!  I'm sure it will, I just hope she will like it!

A Swell Apron!

I decided to make another one of these reversible Emmeline Aprons, this time in Swell fabrics by Urban Chiks for Moda.  Again I ran into some trouble making this one, nothing seemed to go right and I had to do a fair bit of unpicking...  This was meant to be for a friend, but I don't know if I feel it's ''good enough''.  I will wait till the morning and look at it closely in daylight.

An Apron in Apples & Pears!

I think my new sewing room does work!  I just finished my first project for the year - and in the new room.  Today I made this apron, using a pattern by Montessori By Hand, called The Emmeline Apron.  I used the wrong interfacing, so I am not 100% happy with it, but have now bought the right one so I'm hoping the next one will be just right!

I used Alexander Henry's Apples & Pears fabric which I just love, with some on Erin McMorris fabric for contrast.
