A Dress for Mia
♥♥♥
Today I made a little dress for my daughter Mia. I used one of Sandi Henderson's patterns called Claire. It was the first time I have used any of her Portabellopixie Boutique Patterns and I must say it was so easy to follow with step by step color photos to guide me through.
Fabric used for this dress was from Tanya Whelan's Darla collection which is just to gorgeous!
Mia is staying at her grandparents tonight, so I will have to wait till tomorrow to see that it actually fits! I'm sure it will, I just hope she will like it!

A Swell Apron!
I decided to make another one of these reversible Emmeline Aprons, this time in Swell fabrics by Urban Chiks for Moda. Again I ran into some trouble making this one, nothing seemed to go right and I had to do a fair bit of unpicking... This was meant to be for a friend, but I don't know if I feel it's ''good enough''. I will wait till the morning and look at it closely in daylight.

An Apron in Apples & Pears!
I think my new sewing room does work! I just finished my first project for the year - and in the new room. Today I made this apron, using a pattern by Montessori By Hand, called The Emmeline Apron. I used the wrong interfacing, so I am not 100% happy with it, but have now bought the right one so I'm hoping the next one will be just right!
I used Alexander Henry's Apples & Pears fabric which I just love, with some on Erin McMorris fabric for contrast.

My New Sewing Room
So long between posts from me these days... not good. I really miss sewing so much, but running a new business and having a young family with 3 kids does take up a lot of my spare time. I am determined to change this, and I have reorganized our old laundry into my own little sewing heaven. This way it will be easier to just start when I have some spare time without having to set everything up. The washing machine is now out in the shed where it belongs... The washing in this household really is ''The Never Ending Story''...
The old linen press is just a perfect place for my fabric stash

Jelly Roll Xmas Quilt
♥ ♥ ♥
There's been a long while between posts... I just haven't had enough time to sew lately, but finally finished my first Jelly Roll Quilt, using the book ''Jelly Roll Quilts'' by Pam & Nicky Lintott.
I used a Jelly Roll of Glace by 3 Sisters for Moda. Although this is a little too traditional for my taste, I'm still quite happy with the result. It will look nice on our bed for Christmas.
