Laundry Bags in Ginger Blossom Fabrics

I have loved these Ginger Blossom fabrics by Sandi Hendersen ever since I first saw them. This week I decided they are not meant to just lie around for 10 years and be forgotten amongst my huge fabric stash. So yesterday I whipped up 3 large size Laundry bags which can be used for so many other things - Toys, Sewing Supplies, Lingerie, pyjamas etc! Now for sale in my Etsy Store

Eiffel Tower messenger bag

I decided to make another Kennedy Bag, this one I used Michael Miller's Eiffel Towers in hot pink with Aqua Ta Dots fabrics. Once again I didn't have all the accessories so I modified it a little. I changed the corners to a round shape (simply because it was easier...)

Bird Messenger Bag - Kennedy Bag pattern

I love finding new (free) patterns online.  I made this bag using The Kennedy Bag pattern by Sara Lawson from her Sew Sweetness Blog that I stumbled across.  I didn't have all the accessories needed to make it, so I left a few details out, but still feel very happy with it.  The pattern was great to read and easy to follow!  I think I will make a few more.

Asian Doll Tote – pattern from SEWCANSHE

I got inspired today to make this tote using a free pattern from The Inspired Wren (which I found via SEWCANSHE).  I didn't really follow the instructions as per usual, but used all the measurements.  It was quick and easy to made, the fabrics used was Asian Dolls on Pink by Alexander Henry and Tilda Red Dots by Tone Finnegar.

Tilda Quilt

I haven't finished a quilt in over a year, but I have started on quite a few... This week I made this simple quilt using Tonne Finnegar's Tilda fabrics mixed with some Tanya Whelan prints.

Finally the sewing bug has bitten me again!  I've been quite busy sewing over the last week or so and once again, I can't understand why I haven't made anything for so long.  Well, I do know why, life is just so busy these days and being stressed over running our business, financial pressure, 3 young kids... The silly thing is that when I sew, I kind of ''escape'' from all the pressures of life and go in to a happy world of colours, fabric and whilst sewing think of other things I ''just have to make'' which makes me feel really happy from the inside.  Best of all, I sew whilst the rest of the family is around me, it's a hobby that I can do at any time of the day and the family is well used to the noise of the sewing machine, the huge amount of threads & scraps everywhere.  So, here is what I've been up to this week!

Sugar & Spice bag in Babushka fabrics - using ChrisW Designs pattern

My first ever ''purse frame'' purse!  This was really fun to make, but I need to make a few more to prefect this!

Little Red Riding Hood Baby Quilt

I really enjoyed making this baby quilt.  It made me realise how much I have missed sewing and hope this will keep me inspired to start another project. Fabrics used are designed by  Tasha Noel, called Little Red Riding Hood for Riley Blake Designs.

This is the back of the quilt

Little Red Riding Hood Baby Quilt

YAY! I have found my sewing mojo again and I've started to make a baby quilt using Tasha Noel's new fabric called ''Little Red Riding Hood'' for Riley Blake Designs.  This collection of prints are just adorable and can't wait to make more things out of it...

I've had a couple of months off from sewing, just haven't been in the mood, but I've been thinking of sewing projects all week and yesterday made this Bunting for our garden (for the next party).  It was so easy and quick to make, I'm making one in Xmas fabrics next!

YAY! Labyrinth Quilt Finished!

It's always such an awesome feeling to finish a quilt, whether it took me a year to make or just a few days, there is just something really satisfying quilting that last stitch.  Last night I finished my Labyrinth quilt, which means I can start on another one today!

This quilt was made using Red Pepper's Labyrinth quilt pattern. I can highly recommend her patterns, just so easy to follow and great photos. Fabrics used for this quilt are a mix of Denyse Schmidt, Heather Ross and Aneela Hoye beautiful fabrics!
